Remember the Mjolnir purse I showed you last week? Well, I finally finished the rest of my Lady Thor cosplay outfit for Comiccon!
I actually sewed up the wrong size the first time around, because I used a tracing I did when I frankensteined two sizes together a few years ago. Lesson learned. Always measure and check. You would think I would know that by now.
The fabric was all from my stash. The grey is a stretch denim, the red is a linen blend, and the black is vegan leather (pleather). I was going for a nod to Thor, not an exact copy. I can not compete with those abs. Or that beard.
My kind husband made the freezer paper stencil for me (because I am just a mess handling exacto blades). I used it to create the front armor. This was my very first attempt at freezer paper stenciling, and I have to say, I LOVED it! I have always been a little intimidated to try it, but it was much easier than I thought! Now I don’t have to free-hand it if I don’t want to.
I am such a goof.
I paired it with the Thor’s Hammer purse I made, and it looks like I am ready to go to the con!
My girls are both super excited since this is the first time any of us are going! The Bee is going to wear her Black Widow costume that I made her for Halloween.
I will share the costume I made for my Falafel, this week! You know the family that superheroes together, stays together. Uh, or something like that, right?
It is Spring Break here, and I think this will be a definite highlight.
Have you ever attended a Comic convention?
