My brother-in-law and his partner just added this sweet little guy to their family.
Meet Mr. Peabody
When I saw his photo, I thought he needed a bow tie. AmIright?

I thought I would whip up a few of these simple velcro bow ties for that cutie pug. I made them very adjustable and three different sizes since he is still growing.
Here’s how I did it.
Cut 3 strips.
First, sew that long piece into a strap. You iron it like you are making bias tape. Before you begin, iron the short sides in to about 1/4″. Fold in half long ways, then fold the sides in to meet the middle, and then together again, forming a strip.
Next, sew down both sides securing it in place.
You can sew on the velcro now, or wait until later. Put aside. Pick up the bow tie main piece.
Fold so the long edges meet and sew into a tube. Turn right sides out, centering the seam and press.
Fold the short raw sides together and sew. Turn so the raw edges are on the inside. Place aside.
Sew the tiny center one into a tube (long sides together) and turn right sides out. Join the short raw ends together and sew into a ring, just like you did with the main bow tie piece.
Now slip the small ring onto the strap. Squeeze bow tie piece through the ring. Tack in place with zigzag stitch or bartack.
Disclaimer: If you do make one for a dog, make sure you watch that they don’t get it caught on anything. This is just for fun photos, not to be used in place of an actual collar.
This tutorial would work for people bow ties too.
I hope they take some fun photos of Mr. Peabody in his very smart bow ties!
