On-Our-Shelves Sunday

This week we have a beautiful book on our shelves:

lostbookm Lost! A story in string

By Paul Fleischman

There are so many things that I love about this book! The illustrations look like etchings. They are so incredible. There is also a small diagram on each page of string games (like cat’s cradle etc) and section in the back showing you more details. And then, on top of that, is a quaint story filled with a determined little girl to find her one friend (a dog) that gets lost in the woods, consequently getting lost herself. Don’t worry, though. She is resourceful due to the fact that she has alway only had one string to play with.

What are YOU reading this week?

That looks like a great book… I’m going to have to check it out! We read one this week that was kind of fun (ok, there’s not a lot of reading), it was, “The Hole”, by Oyvind Torseter. Kind of fun! And I’m reading a lot of Paleo cookbooks… we’re thinking after Valentines of making some eating changes!

    • Sometimes those picture books are the best! I love the freedom it gives the little reader to take the story where they want it to go.
I heard that Paleo is the way to go! I so many allergies, I have to just maintain what I CAN eat. LOL

OH, no too many allergies is no good! We’ve got a bunch of health stuff going on… kids with stomach aches, and some with snot everywhere! Also I have fibromyalgia so we’re going to see if this helps us all have better health.
