Serendipity of the Coats

Do you want to hear something funny? I mean funny as in cool and coincidental, not funny “ha ha”.

Do you remember the coat I made for Falafel last week for Project Run and Play? Once The Bee saw it, she wanted one too. Only at $25.00/yard, an adult sized coat (about 3 yards) was not high on my list of priorities.

Well, Jim and I were perusing Goodwill the other day and I decided to look in the women’s coat section. LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND!!

samecoat3m I was shocked there was an actual store-bought coat in her size that looked like the one I made!

PicMonkeyCollage There are subtle differences, but for the most part, The Bee got her wish.

samecoat6m AND I got it for $19.99 instead of the $75.00 it would have taken to make it!

What have YOU found serendipitously lately?

  1. That is awesome! It wasn’t lately but I remember one time I was going to a consignment store and I really just wanted grey corduroy pants with a boot cut fit, and thought “OK Lord, up to you”, sure enough they had the perfectly fitting me pair in my size. I loved those so much that I recently turned them into a new purse for me (sadly they were getting a little small) and it’s my favorite purse ever! 🙂
