We all knew this time would come. As far back as June, I felt that Summer was coming to a close, even before it began! Every year it seems to get shorter and shorter. Or maybe that is just because I am older and older?
I have already completed round 1 of school supply shopping. And as I was standing in the aisle looking at the locker organizers, another Mother said to me “look at what they came up with. Pfft. so simple, and they are making tons of money off of it“. She was looking at all the things I was.
My reply was “Yeah. We can totally make all of this stuff!”.
She agreed whole-heartily. We high-fived and went our separate ways.
Then I started to think about that. Why not? I could totally make a magnetic container (from things I already have) for my daughter’s pens and pencils to go in for her locker!
So I did.
It is completely laughable that I even made this tutorial, but I did want to demonstrate how, if we pause just a moment and think, we can make things instead of buying them.
First, gather your supplies:
*Now that I have made one, I would suggest that you use a plastic cup (such as a used but clean yogurt container) which may be lighter than the tin can (because mine slides with too much weight in it, a little).
What have YOU made today?
