While I am doing all of this sewing, I figured I would cross another thing off my “always wanted to try that” list.

It turns out this shirt is as easy {and as cute} as I thought it would be!

I made this shape on some striped stretch jersey.

And I cut a strip of fabric for the bottom slightly smaller than the width of the shirt so it would blouse out a little. I sewed the strip into a tube by sewing the short sides, and then fold it lengthwise so that the raw edges are facing up.

wings6mI rolled the neck to finish it. I didn’t need to finish the edges of the sleeves, because this jersey will not fray!

wing2mI may try it again for her, only slightly longer. This style is so flattering and the shirt was so very quick to make, it will be a snap to make a few more.

What have you made today?
