With all of the whirling activity of Christmas coming to end, I felt the need to craft one more frivolous celebratory thing.

Gold and Silver animals to put in New Years’ Crackers!

I just hand painted silver and gold acrylic paint on some cheap plastic animals that we already had. Then after the coats dried, I brushed on some glitter glue to make them sparkle.

Even though my nose is so incredibly congested and I feel like something scraped off the bottom of a shoe, I wanted to break up the monotony of blowing my nose 4000 times, with a productive activity.

This was the perfect low-energy/ high yield craft.

The hippo is my favorite. He is so pretty.

I love looking at them all. It amazes me how a simple coat of paint can transform these cheap plastic toys into something quite festive.

I can’t decide which ones I like better, the Silver or the Gold.

Will you make a craft to ring in this New Year?

Anyone else fighting colds or flus right now?

Have a safe and sparkly New Year’s Eve!

Donkey! Love! Very neat. Thanks for sharing this craft. Colds? Yes and yes. Over thankfully. But nose blowing, yes and yes! Yuck. Hope you feel better soon. Happy New Year!
