This week, my husband is reading to us, out loud, from a classic book:
The Hobbit
by J.R.R. Tolkien
I have never read this one! Ever. I know it’s shocking. My husband hasn’t either!
So, as well as being a treat for Falafel (The Bee has already read it) it is a treat for me and my husband. It has some gruesome and violent parts, but she doesn’t seem to be bothered by it. We make sure to stop and ask questions to make sure she is keeping up and following the intricate story.
She is.
We can’t wait to see what happens next!

I have read this book so many times I really should replace my current copy. I have read it to my children multiple times. My son has read it on his own and my daughter is about to read it…as soon as I am done reading it again.
I am a huge Tolkien fan and this book was my intro into his world.
It is so much fun to read together! I am hooked.
