It happens every year. The first cold snap rears it’s crisp head, and my instinct is to burrow down under the covers, while wearing fleece, drinking hot beverages, and eating ungodly amounts of sugar.

I have to diligently remind myself how very good it feels once I get out and get moving. This time of year is so incredibly beautiful (and even sunny). It is a discipline to photograph, like any exercise, I have to nudge myself hard to get out the door, but once I do, it is magic.

We had Parent/Teacher conferences at Falafel’s school this past week, and the kids always have off. So she and I got out and enjoyed the briskness and beauty of Autumn.

Then when running down the path, she fell and scraped up most of her body. *sigh*

We did enjoy it up until then.

It felt so good to get out with my camera and my girl. We’ll do it again, even if it takes more than a gentle reminder (and a bunch of bandages) to get us back out there.

What does it take to get get you out when the temps start to drop?

Oh poor Felafel – ouch! :( Meanwhile while you guys are getting cosy we have cranked up the air con for the first time this season – my boy Alex was out running around sprinklers in his swimmers on the weekend (it was 95 degrees F here last weekend – very hot for this time of year, even for us in the semi-tropics!)

Sorry been very busy with work :) YOu should definitely come to visit – particularly Spring and Autumn are beautiful where I live (summers usually hot, humid and often rainy!)
