Harvest Fair Fun
You may remember us participating in the annual Harvest Fair from 2010, or even from 2009. This year we kept with tradition and went, again, to The Harvest Fair over at Johsnon Farm. The Friends of the Farms do a fantastic job every year of putting this event on.
*Warning: This is an extremely photo heavy post. You might want to grab a snack and settle in.
This year it may have started out raining, but it ended up a spectacular Fall day!
My husband was once again known (by me) this year as He-Who-Judges-Pie along with some of the fine local chefs and bakers on this island.

While my husband sat in judgement, the girls and I had a blast at the fair!
There was so much jumping…
…and falling (all in the name of fun, or course).
They each got a chance this year to ride horses again! I think this may be one of the favorite activities.
The Bee’s horse had crazy eyes I tell you. Crazy eyes.
Even though Falafel’s horse could have probably swallowed her whole (she looks so tiny up there), she rode with such confidence and had so much fun.
Then there were sheep.
If I wasn’t so incredibly allergic to lanolin and wool, I would bury my face in this guy’s beautiful fleece.
And who could forget going down this slide 50 times?
Oh goodness. The many sights and sounds (and friends) make us feel like we are part of the community. Like we’re home.

The Bee actually got to enter a pie this year! She didn’t win (no special treatment for the daughter of a Judge), but she is already planning a pie for next year!
This family-friendly event is a must, if you live in the area.
We look forward to next year.
If you’d like to see a few more photos (I know, wasn’t 20 enough???) head on over to The Mom Squad Blog, where I also shared our experience.
